Memorial Garden
& Columbarium

A place of peace and rest, both now and at the end of life

About This Space

A Columbarium is a resting place for our own or our loved ones remains. Inside the garden walls, several columbarium structures will offer compartments, or niches, for holding urns. Our Columbarium will initially have 140 niches where urns containing cremated remains are placed. Each niche has the capacity to hold two urns. The niches are sealed with an engraved stone front showing the name and life dates of those placed within. Anyone with a connection to Cherry Creek (and their family) may have their remains placed here.
We are currently scheduling one-on-one meetings to share information or reserve a niche.

Leaving A Legacy

As Christians, we believe in resurrection from the dead and new spiritual life through Jesus after death. Still, from earliest times, God’s people have looked for ways to honor their departed family members. Abraham purchased a burial site for himself and his wife Sarah (Genesis 23:9). Joseph, like his father Jacob, asked his children to take his bones back to Israel to be buried (Genesis 47-50). All these Patriarchs desired to be buried at a place they loved with those whom they loved most.

According to Jewish scholars, they create this tradition for three reasons:

1) to help their children and grandchildren remember who they were

2) to help them remember their family’s connection to a special place

3) to remind them of God’s covenant faithfulness over generations

These are the same reasons Cherry Creek is building a Memorial Garden.
Our desire is to create a beautiful, serene place to remember and reflect on people and on God.
